Beaches

Talamanca

A stone’s throw from Ibiza Town, Talamanca is the town beach without the bustle. A large sheltered bay, almost a kilometre of golden sand, a wooden boardwalk lined with bars and fish restaurants: you can walk here from the centre in twenty minutes, and the water stays calm all summer thanks to its north-east orientation.

Talamanca occupies a protected bay just north-east of Ibiza Town, 5 minutes by taxi or about twenty minutes’ walk along the coast. The beach stretches for almost 900 metres of fine sand, backed by a promenade lined with bars, restaurants and a few hotels. It is the ideal combination of being close to town and having a relaxed beach atmosphere.

About Talamanca

Talamanca’s main asset is its north-east orientation: the bay is sheltered from the prevailing summer winds, and the water stays calm and shallow all season. That makes it a reassuring beach for families and pleasant for long swims, close enough to head back into town for dinner with no effort.

The wooden boardwalk along the sand is a place of its own: people walk, run and settle on terraces there. Some places stay open even in winter, a sign that Talamanca is not just a seasonal beach.

For the same town-beach feel on the Santa Eulària side, see Cala Llonga; for a wilder day, Es Cavallet to the south is a complete change of atmosphere.

Access and parking at Talamanca

Talamanca is one of the easiest beaches to reach in Ibiza. From the centre of Ibiza Town, you can walk there along a pleasant coastal path in about twenty minutes, take a very short taxi ride, or catch a bus from the CETIS bus station on the edge of town.

Its closeness to the capital is its big advantage: no car needed, which is welcome when you are staying in Ibiza Town. In high season, coming on foot or by public transport also avoids the parking issue, always tricky near town.

Restaurants and services

Food is one of Talamanca’s strong points. Along the bay you will find rustic bars, fish restaurants where you dine with your feet in the sand, pizzerias and Mediterranean restaurants serving paella and fresh seafood. Prices range widely, from a simple lunch to a more refined dinner facing the sea.

The beach has the usual services of a big town beach, and its sheltered setting makes it comfortable from morning to evening. It is a good compromise for anyone who wants to enjoy Ibiza Town while having a quality beach close at hand.

Activities and good practice

The calm water is good for swimming, paddleboarding and gentle water sports. But Talamanca is also about its surroundings: the coastal walk to Ibiza Town, the view of the fortified old town of Dalt Vila in the distance, and the ease of combining the beach by day with a night out in town.
