Hotels guide

Where to stay in Ibiza? Our hotels, area by area

Ibiza is 45 km long and each area has its own mood: partying in Playa d’en Bossa, the old town in Eivissa, sunsets in Sant Antoni, family calm in Santa Eulària, wild coves in the north. Choose the area first, then the hotel: our addresses, themed selections and tested reviews are below.

Key points

  • For partying: Playa d’en Bossa, right by Ushuaïa and Hï, 10 minutes from the airport.
  • For culture and nights out without a car: Eivissa, with Dalt Vila, the port and Pacha on foot.
  • Small budget and sunsets: Sant Antoni, the cheapest area on the island.
  • With the family: Santa Eulària, a lifeguarded beach without currents, quiet nights.
  • As a couple or to switch off: the north, around Portinatx, with a car.

Which area

Where to stay in Ibiza: which area to choose?

The area matters as much as the hotel: a charming hotel in Playa d’en Bossa is still next to the clubs, a family hotel in the north means taking the car for every outing. Every area is compared in detail in our guide on where to stay in Ibiza.

My verdict

I have stayed at the Paradiso in Sant Antoni several times: perfect if you love design and a lively atmosphere, less so if you want privacy. As a couple, I prefer the north, around Portinatx, where I have been back several times: superb views, hotels with spas, good restaurants and far fewer people than in the west. With children too, Portinatx is still my favourite.

My tip: mix it up. A few nights in a lively area, then a few nights somewhere calm; the island is small enough to change hotels during your stay.
