Ibiza airport sits just 7 km from Ibiza Town, and nowhere on the island is much more than 30 to 40 minutes’ drive away. The question is not whether you will get to your hotel, but how much you want to pay and how much waiting you can put up with after your flight.
Here are the real options, what they cost in 2026 and when a pre-booked transfer is worth it over the bus or a taxi from the rank.
Key points
- Bus: since April 2026 the airport is served by five AERO lines, from €3.50 by card (€4.90 cash) to Ibiza Town, the port and Playa d’en Bossa, €4 to San Antonio and Santa Eulalia.
- Taxi to Ibiza Town: around €16 to €20 by day on the meter (€4 pick-up, €2.15 airport supplement, €1.21 per km).
- Private transfer: €35 to €50 to Ibiza Town, €60 to €90 to San Antonio or Santa Eulalia, per vehicle, not per person.
- In July and August, after 11pm or with children, book ahead: fixed price, a driver who tracks your flight and no queue at the rank.

Ibiza airport: small, busy and very close to everything
Ibiza airport (IBZ) is in Sant Jordi de ses Salines, in the south of the island, between Ibiza Town and Sant Josep. There is a single terminal for every flight, domestic and international, so there is no running between buildings: you land, collect your bags and you are outside in a few minutes.
In summer it handles a constant stream of flights from the UK and the rest of Europe without feeling chaotic. From London, the flight takes around 2 hours 20 minutes; from Manchester or Bristol, closer to 2 hours 30.

Its real advantage is distance. Ibiza Town and Playa d’en Bossa are 10 to 15 minutes away, San Antonio and Santa Eulalia around 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. Still deciding where to base yourself? It is worth choosing your area before you choose your transfer, since the price follows the distance.
Ibiza airport to your resort: prices by destination
The most searched routes, with typical 2026 prices. Taxi fares are metered day rates; private transfers are per vehicle for up to four people.
| From the airport to | AERO bus | Taxi | Private transfer | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| San Antonio (Sant Antoni) | AERO1, €4 | €30 to €38 | €60 to €90 | 25 to 30 min |
| Ibiza Town and the port | AERO2 or AERO3, €3.50 | €16 to €20 | €35 to €50 | 10 to 15 min |
| Playa d’en Bossa and Figueretas | AERO5, €3.50 | €12 to €16 | from €35 | 10 min |
| Santa Eulalia and Es Canar | AERO4, €4 | €35 to €45 | €60 to €90 | 25 to 35 min |
| Portinatx and the north | No direct AERO line | around €55 | on quote | 35 to 45 min |
Bus fares are the card or QR price; paying cash on board costs more (€4.90 or €5.60). Taxi fares rise at night, on Sundays and on public holidays, and an increase of around 9% was approved in September 2026.
Private or shared transfer: how it works
Private transfer (door to door)
You book online with your flight number and address. A driver waits for you in the arrivals hall with a sign, tracks your flight if it is late, and the price is fixed before you travel.
It is the most relaxed option if you are travelling as a family, with bulky luggage or landing late. Expect €35 to €50 to Ibiza Town and €60 to €90 to San Antonio or Santa Eulalia, depending on the vehicle, the company and the time of year.

Shared shuttle
Cheaper: a shared shuttle drops you off (or picks you up) with other passengers, usually for €8 to €20 per person. It is a good middle ground if you want to save money without dragging cases to a bus stop, but expect a few extra stops and a longer journey.
Bus, taxi or private transfer: the comparison
AERO bus
€3.50 to €4/person
Five lines from the terminal to Ibiza Town, the port, San Antonio, Santa Eulalia and Playa d’en Bossa.
- The cheapest option
- AERO3 stops at the port for Formentera
- Not door to door
- Awkward with big cases and buggies
Easiest
Fixed-price taxi
~€20/vehicle
To Ibiza Town, booked online for roughly the meter price.
- Driver waiting in arrivals
- Flight tracking if you are delayed
- Name sign on arrival
- Flexible cancellation
Private transfer or van
€35 to €90/vehicle
Depending on the area: Ibiza Town, San Antonio, Santa Eulalia, the north.
- Vans for 7 to 8 people
- Child seats on request
- Same fixed price at night
- More expensive if you travel alone
When is a pre-booked transfer worth it?
- You are a group of three or more: the price per person drops below the cost of separate bus tickets plus the hassle.
- You have heavy luggage, a buggy or small children (ask for a child seat when you book).
- You land late in July or August and do not want to queue at the taxi rank.
The other options
Taxi from Ibiza airport: the quickest
If you have not booked anything, the taxi rank is the most flexible option. Ibiza taxis run on a meter with fares set by the island council: €4 pick-up, €2.15 airport or port supplement, then €1.21 per km by day and €1.47 per km at night (9pm to 7am), on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays. A rise of around 9% was voted in September 2026 and applies once officially published (Periódico de Ibiza).
- Ibiza Town: €16 to €20
- Playa d’en Bossa: €12 to €16
- San Antonio: €30 to €38
- Santa Eulalia: €35 to €45
Cards are usually accepted, but keep some cash for tips. In peak season the queue can build up in the evening, but the rank is well organised and moves quickly.
Ibiza airport bus: the AERO lines
Since 1 April 2026, the airport buses run by Alsa are called AERO1 to AERO5. If you read about the old L10 or line 9, those numbers no longer apply.
- AERO1: airport, Sant Josep, San Antonio (€4 by card).
- AERO2: airport, Sant Jordi, Ibiza bus station (€3.50).
- AERO3: express to Ibiza Town and the port, handy for the ferry to Formentera (€3.50).
- AERO4: airport, Santa Eulalia, Es Canar, Cala Nova (€4).
- AERO5: airport, Playa d’en Bossa, Figueretas (€3.50).
Buses run roughly every 20 to 30 minutes in summer, with fewer departures in spring, autumn and winter and no service in the middle of the night. Check times on Alsa Ibiza or the Aena airport page before you fly. You can pay by card or QR on board, in the Mobi4U app or at the machines in the terminal.

Car hire: total freedom, but watch the parking
If you want to explore the island from day one, picking up a hire car at the airport is often the best option. The big international brands and local firms all have desks or shuttles there. The catch is cost (hire, fuel, parking) and parking in towns in high season. Since 2026, Ibiza also caps the number of vehicles entering the island each day in summer.
Going straight to Formentera from the airport
If Formentera is your final stop, the simplest route is the AERO3 bus or a taxi (€16 to €20) to the port, then the 30-minute fast ferry to La Savina. In summer there are several sailings an hour, so you do not need to aim for a precise time, but a return ticket booked in advance saves queuing at the ticket office.
Heading to Formentera
Airport, then straight on to Formentera
Return ferry ticket Ibiza to La Savina, booked online before you reach the port. The crossing takes 30 to 35 minutes.
- From €55 return
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before
- 4.7/5 from 300+ reviews

| Option | Typical price | Time | Comfort | Best if… |

| Private transfer | €35 to €90 | 10 to 30 min | High | Groups, families, luggage |
| Shared shuttle | €8 to €20 pp | 15 to 45 min | Medium | Solo travellers wanting comfort on a budget |
| Taxi | €12 to €45 | 10 to 30 min | High | Speed and flexibility |
| AERO bus | €3.50 to €4 | 20 to 60 min | Medium | Tight budget, hotel near a stop |
| Car hire | from €25/day | – | Varies | Exploring the island |
My practical tips
- In July and August demand explodes. Booking a private transfer ahead guarantees a driver, even for late arrivals.
- Compare prices on specialist transfer platforms: you lock in a fixed price and avoid surprises on arrival.
- If you are going airport, port, Formentera in one go, check the ferry times before you land.
- Only use the official taxi rank or a pre-booked service. Checks on unlicensed drivers are frequent in high season, and an undeclared operator can mean unnecessary trouble.
So which option should you choose?
| Your priority | Best option | Ideal when |
|---|---|---|
| Best balance of comfort and price | Shared or private transfer (if there are several of you) | You want comfort without overspending |
| Tight budget | AERO bus | Light luggage and accommodation near a stop |
| Late arrival or onward journey | Taxi or pre-booked private transfer | Speed and availability matter most |
Ibiza airport transfer
Landing in August or after 11pm?
The taxi rank works well, but a booked driver waits with your name in arrivals, follows your flight if it is late, and the price is fixed before you leave.
- Fixed price
- Flight tracking
- Flexible cancellation
