Key points
- An organised yoga retreat generally costs €1,200 to €2,600 for 4 to 7 days, accommodation and meals included, flights and ferry extra.
- Ibiza has the most choice, especially in the rural north (Sant Joan, Sant Llorenç, Santa Gertrudis). Formentera offers smaller retreats, in spring and October.
- Without a set programme, wellness hotels such as Six Senses or Atzaró let you make your own retreat, from €400 a night.
- To get a taste in a morning: a seaside yoga session in Ibiza from €39, a sound bath from €109.
A week of sunrise yoga, vegetarian meals cooked with vegetables from the finca, a sound bath in the shade of the pines, then a swim in a cove before dinner: that is the programme of an Ibiza retreat, and it is why they fill up year after year. The island has everything you expect from a break to unwind: countryside in the north that has stayed wild, crystal-clear water, sunshine from April to October and teachers from all over the world who have settled here.

Why wellness retreats are so popular in Ibiza

Wellness tourism is one of the fastest-growing travel segments: according to the Global Wellness Institute, global spending was set to pass $1 trillion in 2024. People no longer travel just to get a tan, but to come back rested, sleep better and switch off from screens.
Ibiza has got the message. The island now has its own wellness festival, Ibiza Wellness Weekend, whose 7th edition runs from 16 to 18 October 2026 between Sant Joan, Santa Eulària and the Conference Centre, with more than 1,000 participants expected. In June, Ibiza Yoga Week offers five days of sessions across the island’s five municipalities.
Formentera is following the same path: its Formentera Zen festival, run by the island council, held its 12th edition at the end of May 2026, at the Gecko. These events have another advantage: they fall outside high season, when the beaches are quiet and prices gentler.
Organised retreats in Ibiza
Most retreats are held in fincas in the north and centre of the island, around Sant Joan, Sant Llorenç and Santa Gertrudis: the countryside is green, the roads quiet and the groups small, usually 6 to 15 people.

Ibiza Retreats: the full week, coaching included
Ibiza Retreats runs its ReVITALISE programme in a retreat house near Santa Gertrudis: 6 nights full board, somatic yoga, meditation, massages and one-to-one coaching sessions. Allow about €2,600 to €3,000 in a shared room and around €4,000 in a single room. It is one of the most complete packages on the island.

Ashram Ibiza, in Santa Eulària
If you are staying on the east side, Ashram Ibiza is a yoga and meditation centre in the heart of Santa Eulària. It runs classes all year, trains teachers (a 200-hour Hatha yoga course recognised by Yoga Alliance) and hosts other teachers’ retreats of up to 13 participants. Handy for taking a few classes on holiday without staying on site.

Retreat booking platforms
Specialist sites such as BookRetreats or BookYogaRetreats list dozens of 4 to 8-day retreats: yoga and detox, sound healing, women’s retreats, yoga and nutrition. Most cost between about €1,200 and €2,000, with a deposit when you book. Prices are often shown in dollars: convert before comparing.
Wellness hotels, for a retreat at your own pace
Fancy some freedom? Some Ibiza hotels offer yoga classes, a spa and healthy food without a set schedule: everyone puts together their own retreat, as a couple or solo.

Six Senses Ibiza, on Cala Xarraca bay
In the north of the island, Six Senses combines a 1,200 m² spa, an organic farm supplying the kitchens and 3 or 7-night programmes (detox, longevity, sleep, fitness). The 3-night detox programme was listed at £4,430 per person in late 2025 by the agency Health and Fitness Travel, a little over €5,000.
Atzaró, the 300-year-old finca near Santa Eulària
Spa, three pools and yoga every morning in an orange grove, from €400 to €600 a night. The right compromise between a countryside retreat and the eastern beaches, 10 minutes away by car. Our selection of agroturismos in Ibiza compares it with the other fincas.

Nomade Temple, in Portinatx
The new Portinatx resort announces a free daily programme for guests: yoga, meditation, sound healing and a treatment area. What we know is in our article on Nomade Temple.
Other addresses offer yoga on site: our guide to luxury boutique hotels in Ibiza flags them one by one.
Formentera: smaller retreats, in spring and October
In Formentera, the offer is more intimate and more seasonal. Most retreats take place from April to May and from late September to October, when the island is quiet and hotels more affordable than in August. You walk, cycle the tracks and swim between sessions. To plan the rest of your stay, our Formentera guide has the essentials.
Gecko Hotel & Beach Club, on Migjorn beach
Gecko hosts retreats run by visiting teachers: nine sessions in 2026, from 4 to 7 nights, taught in German, Spanish or English depending on the teacher. The calendar is on the hotel’s website, and guests also get morning yoga facing the sea.
See our Gecko page or its availability on Booking

Canta Retreats, near Migjorn
In October 2026, Canta Retreats ran a 4-night retreat at €1,699 in a shared room and €2,299 in a single room: transfers from La Savina port, three vegetarian meals a day prepared by a chef, yoga, Pilates, hikes and a sound bath. The details of the 2026 edition give a good idea of what a retreat costs on the island.

To get to the island, allow 30 minutes by fast ferry from Ibiza: timetables and prices in our Ibiza-Formentera ferry guide. For other hotels to unwind in, see our selection of luxury hotels in Formentera.
A wellness session without doing a retreat

No time for a full week? A vinyasa yoga session on a cliff near Cala Gració, next to Sant Antoni, costs about €39 for 1.5 hours, mat provided, followed by a swim in a cove and a glass of cava. It is rated 4.9/5 from more than 100 reviews and runs almost every day of the year. The details are on our activity page.
Other experiences let you sample a retreat in a few hours:
- Seaside yoga with breakfast, from €45, rated 4.8/5.

- Private wellness ritual with massage and jacuzzi, from €200, rated 5/5.
- Private yoga and sound bath experience in a villa, from €559 (per session, for a small group), rated 5/5.

Choosing your retreat: the questions to ask before booking

- What is included? Meals and accommodation almost always, transfers sometimes, flights and the ferry to Formentera never.
- What language are the classes in? Many retreats are in English, some in German, a few in French.
- How many participants? Usually between 6 and 15: the right size for real attention.
- Shared or single room? It is the biggest cost item: a €600 to €1,300 difference over a week.
- What are the cancellation terms? Check the deposit amount and the refund deadline. Some retreats also require travel insurance.
- What level? Most welcome beginners. If you have never practised, aim for one or two sessions a day rather than three.
As for timing, May, June, September and October are the months with the widest choice, with a pleasant sea and fewer people than in August. Month-by-month details in when to go to Ibiza and Formentera.
Es Vedrà and Benirràs: the real stories
You often read that Es Vedrà is one of the most magnetic places on the planet. The rock is limestone, with no notable magnetic properties, as the local news site Noudiari points out. Its spiritual reputation has a very real origin: in the 19th century, the Carmelite Francesc Palau came to meditate there and described his mystical experiences on the islet. All the legends are in our article on Es Vedrà, and the sunset facing the rock is still one of the island’s most beautiful (see our sunset spots).
At Benirràs, the Sunday evening drums were long a tradition. They are now banned under Sant Joan’s beach bylaw, with fines of up to €1,500, according to La Voz de Ibiza. The cove is still a beautiful sunset spot: access, parking and Sunday shuttles on our Benirràs page.

Ibiza or Formentera for a retreat?
Ibiza has much more choice, from April to October and sometimes in winter, especially in the north of the island. Formentera offers smaller retreats in April-May and October, with even more peace and quiet. For Formentera, add 30 minutes by fast ferry from Ibiza.
When is the best time for a retreat in Ibiza?
May, June, September and October: that is when retreats are most numerous, the sea is warm enough for swimming and the island is less busy than in July-August. It is also the time of the Ibiza Yoga Week (June) and Ibiza Wellness Weekend (October) festivals.
Can you do a yoga retreat as a beginner?
Yes, most retreats are open to all levels and adapt the postures. Choose a format with one or two sessions a day. To try before committing, a 1.5-hour seaside session in Ibiza costs about €39.
Are there still drums at Benirràs on Sundays?
No, not officially. Sant Joan’s beach bylaw bans instruments and unauthorised parties, with fines of up to €1,500. The cove is still very busy at sunset.
Is Es Vedrà really magnetic?
No. The rock is limestone, with no notable magnetic properties. Its spiritual reputation comes from the island’s legends and from Father Francesc Palau, who meditated there in the 19th century.
