Es Niu Blau

Between Santa Eulària and Es Canar, Es Niu Blau is a small, discreet cove at the mouth of a stream. Golden sand, pines running down to the shore for shade, calm water: it is a quiet refuge away from the big beaches, perfect for a family day without the crowds.

Es Niu Blau is on the east coast, just 2 km from both Santa Eulària and Es Canar. The beach is short, about a hundred metres, lined with pines and tall bamboo that give it a green setting. The fine sand and shallow water make it a safe, restful spot, loved precisely for its modest size.

About Es Niu Blau

Es Niu Blau has the charm of small family coves: sheltered, calm, with natural shade, rare on the island, thanks to its pine woods. The water is clear and shallow, reassuring for children’s swimming. Its location between two resorts makes it an easy stop, but its small size keeps it away from the crowds of the big neighbouring beaches.

It is the kind of place you come to for a quiet half-day rather than a lively full day. For a bigger, livelier beach in the same area, Cala Pada and Es Canar are a few minutes away, as is the cove of Cala Llonga a little further south.

Access and parking at Es Niu Blau

Es Niu Blau is easy to reach by car, bike or bus from Santa Eulària or Es Canar, 2 km either way. There are two car parks to know about: the southern one, belonging to a restaurant, is paid; the northern one is free.

From the free car park, allow five minutes’ walk to the sand, with a few fairly steep steps at the end. Access for people with reduced mobility is easier via the restaurant on the south side. As so often, arriving early guarantees a space and a still-quiet beach.

Food and services on site

Despite its size, Es Niu Blau is well equipped. There are sunbeds, mats, parasols, showers and a first-aid post in season (June to September). Two restaurants share the cove: one more traditional, the other a modern, elegant beach club, so both moods are covered.

A raised beach bar focused on organic produce completes the offer, with a lovely view of the bay. That is a plus for a cove this size: you can spend the day there without bringing everything, while staying in a natural setting.

Activities and good practice

Es Niu Blau is mostly for quiet swimming, snorkelling along the edges and relaxing in the shade of the pines. It is a beach for resting more than for sport, ideal for a breather between busier days. Being close to Santa Eulària means you can combine it with an evening in town.
