Cala Olivera

In south-east Ibiza, near Roca Llisa, Cala Olivera is one of those secluded coves you only find by looking. Small, wild and surrounded by woods, with emerald water and very few people most of the time: it is a well-kept secret, away from the usual tourist trail.

Cala Olivera nestles near the Roca Llisa residential estate and its golf course, in the municipality of Santa Eulària. The shore mixes sand and rocks, the water is clear and emerald, and the atmosphere is resolutely calm. It is a cove for people who put peace and nature before beach comforts.

About Cala Olivera

Cala Olivera has two moods: a part with a little sand and hammocks, and a rocky area to the side, reached by a few steps, popular with naturists. Its discretion and wooded setting make it a timeless interlude, where you mostly meet people in the know.

The clear water and rocky seabed are good for snorkelling, and the low numbers let you enjoy it fully. It is not a beach for a classic family day, but a refuge for those seeking peace. In the same discreet spirit, Es Portitxol and Cala Llonga are worth a look.

Access and parking at Cala Olivera

This is the tricky part: access is through the Roca Llisa estate. First follow the signs for the golf course, then those for the cove once inside the estate. Depending on the season, a guard may control the entrance, and access for outside visitors is not always guaranteed, although the presence of a restaurant suggests it is generally tolerated.

There is a small parking area by the beach bar, at the end of a dirt track. It is best to come early, both for a space and to avoid uncertainty over access at busy times. It is a cove that takes a bit of resourcefulness, which also explains why it is so quiet.

Services and good practice

Services are simple: a beach bar lets you have a drink or a bite to eat, but that is about it. A few hammocks are available on the sandy side. For the rest, come self-sufficient, with water and sun protection.

Cala Olivera is above all a beach for swimming and lazing in peace. Being close to Ibiza Town and Santa Eulària makes it easy to fit into a day exploring the south-east coast, which is more discreet than the big west-coast spots.
