Looking for the most crystal-clear water in the country to dive into? The Pityuses have just received official recognition that will surprise nobody who has been there.

A colour study by Sixt analysed 100 European beaches.
The result: two Balearic spots make Spain’s top 10 for the bluest water.

Illetes beach in Formentera: national bronze medal

Nestled in the heart of the Ses Salines natural park, this stretch of Mediterranean sand attracts photographers from all over the world. Its translucent water confirms its reputation as a living postcard.

On the Ibiza side, Cala Comte ranks 10th. Its turquoise shades contrast with the surrounding islets such as s’Illa des Bosc and sa Conillera. A natural picture that is part of the island’s visual DNA.

In practice, these rankings reflect what residents and visitors see every summer: the Balearic sea rivals the most sought-after destinations on the planet.
