Forget the image of an educational farm and a shared vegetable patch. In Ibiza, agroturismo means something else: a dozen or so old country houses, renovated into charming hotels, hidden inland between Santa Eulalia, Sant Joan and San Rafael, with the law defining the status on paper. In reality, it is closer to a chic boutique hotel.
A small difference from Menorca, where agroturismo is still tied to a real working farm, with staff registered on the land. Here, the orange grove or the vegetable garden is much appreciated, but it is not necessarily a business running behind the scenes.
One name will disappear from all your 2026 searches: Cas Gasi. This finca, long cited as the benchmark, closed to the public in 2025. It became Soho Farmhouse Ibiza, a private members’ club, from €233 a month. If you still see its name somewhere, know that you can no longer stay there without a membership card.
A personal selection of rural hotels in Ibiza
Atzaró, the benchmark for a long stay
Atzaró is the name everyone mentions first, and for good reason: the finca is more than 300 years old, set on a 13-hectare estate planted with orange trees, in the middle of the island between Santa Eulalia and San Juan (north-east). For a stay even more focused on wellbeing, see our guide to yoga retreats in Ibiza.
24 rooms and suites, some with a private pool. A 43-metre main pool, a Balinese spa with sauna and hammam, two restaurants, three bars. Allow €400 to €600 a night depending on the season, sometimes more in July and August.
The estate’s orange trees scent the whole property, and the restaurant really uses them: the morning juices come from the trees you see from the terrace. Dinner is often served by one of the three pools, away from the main building, which makes you feel you have the place to yourself even when the hotel is full. The Balinese spa, with its stone hammam and outdoor sauna, stands out from the usual hotel spas: the space is designed for lingering. A real disconnection.

- On Google Maps: get directions
- Booking rating: 9.2/10, about 4.6/5
- Nearest: 10 minutes from Santa Eulalia and its beaches, 25 minutes from Ibiza Town.

Atzaró hosts weddings and large events, sometimes with more than 100 people. If you want total peace, check the calendar before booking.
Having been there, we were really charmed by its big outdoor pool! It is a truly incredible place.
Can Curreu, for horse riding and the spa
Near Sant Carles de Peralta, in the east of the island. An old farmhouse turned into a 5-star hotel, with a real riding centre on site, a spa and a gourmet restaurant.
Fewer than 20 rooms, from €275 a night with breakfast, up to €400 for the superior suites.
The riding centre sets it apart from the other addresses on this list: you can ride straight out from the property into the hills around Sant Carles, without going through an outside provider. The spa circuit is worth it even if you are not staying, with its sauna-hammam-indoor pool with waterfalls sequence that easily takes two hours. The restaurant also draws island residents who come to dine without booking a room, a good sign of consistent cooking rather than a marketing pitch for passing tourists.

- On Google Maps: get directions
- Booking rating: 9.3/10, about 4.65/5
- Nearest: Cala Nova beach about 3.3 km away, Es Figueral beach 4 km

Can Curreu is about 25 minutes from the beaches and nightlife of the south.
Can Lluc, the best balance of peace and welcome
In San Rafael, in a valley at the heart of the island. A 300-year-old family house, extended with villas with private pools and gardens, on a 10-hectare estate. Certified Green Key and Beyond Green, two labels that verify a minimum of real environmental practices (not just a marketing claim).
The sense of calm comes from a simple detail: the property is surrounded by fields and orchards that absorb the noise of the road and neighbouring houses. You hear nothing from the rooms, no cars, no neighbours. The estate restaurant cooks with its own produce and keeps a family-table atmosphere rather than a stiff fine-dining room, which suits the spirit of the place. The most recent reviews, from April to October, all come back to the same word: tranquillity. No significant weak point comes out of the reviews consulted, which is rare for a property this size.

Can Pardal, for a stay for two
In the village of Sant Miquel de Balansat, in the north-west.
A 15th or 16th-century house, just 5 rooms, a garden and outdoor pool. A deliberately small format, carefully designed decor, right next to the village church.
Just 5 rooms changes everything: the service becomes almost personal, with a welcome regularly rated 10/10 in reviews.
The location, right next to the church in the village of Sant Miquel, means you can walk to the local bar terraces in the evening without getting back in the car, a real plus compared with isolated fincas in the countryside. Reviews mention impeccable upkeep and attention to detail that particularly appeals to couples.
- Address: Carrer de Missa, 3, 07815 Sant Miquel de Balansat, Ibiza
- On Google Maps: get directions
- Booking rating: 9.7/10, about 4.85/5
- Nearest: a 3-minute walk from the centre of Sant Miquel de Balansat, Port de Sant Miquel beach about 3.6 km away

Allow €160 to €305 a night depending on the period.
Ca’s Pla, for the big gardens
Also in Sant Miquel de Balansat, in the north, a few minutes from Can Pardal. A 17th-century finca on a hill, 16 rooms, two pools, a 30,000 m² Mediterranean garden. No central restaurant on site, unlike the other addresses on this list.
The 30,000 m2 garden is no ordinary hotel garden: it was built over decades, with antiques and objects collected by the owners over time. The hosts, Natalia and Massimo, are named in almost every review, which is rare, and it shows in a welcome that goes beyond standard boutique-hotel service.
- Address: Venda de Rubió, Carrer de Rubió 59, 07815 Sant Miquel de Balansat, Ibiza
- On Google Maps: get directions
- Booking rating: 9.0/10 (126 reviews), 4.5/5
- Nearest: the cove and port of Sant Miquel about 5 minutes by car, Cala Benirràs beach about 13 minutes

The access road is narrow, winding and uphill. If you are driving a big hire car, bear that in mind. The exact rate was not confirmed with certainty, to check when booking.
Casa Munich, to stay close to town
Heading south this time, to Ses Salines, on the edge of the nature reserve. 31 rooms and apartments in a 400-year-old finca. Three pools including a heated adults-only one, spa, gym, tennis, basketball, yoga every morning.
3 pools, including a heated adults-only one, let you really choose your atmosphere during the day rather than sharing a single pool with everyone. The place also works as a practical base for alternating countryside and town: yoga at sunrise on site, then a 15-minute drive to dine in the town centre in the evening, which few agroturismos on this list make so simple.
Several reviews describe a home rather than a classic hotel atmosphere, with very personal service.
- Address: Carrer des Migjorn Gran, 13, Ses Salines, 07818 Sant Francesc de s’Estany, Ibiza
- On Google Maps: get directions
- Booking rating: 9.3/10, about 4.65/5
- Nearest: Ses Salines beach about 2.9 km away, Ibiza Town about 6 km

5 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the centre of Ibiza Town.
If you want the countryside by day and the town by night, it is the only address in this selection that makes it easy.
Agroturismo, rural hotel, boutique hotel: the real difference
On paper, the Balearic Islands tourism law does regulate agroturismo status, including in Ibiza. An additional agricultural law even specifies that a farm must keep its agricultural status to use the name. A new text has been under consultation since late 2025 to create an even stricter category, limited to 10 tourist places per farm.
In practice, none of the addresses on this list provides verifiable proof of real commercial farming, with produce sales or registered farm staff. Atzaró’s orange grove really does produce fruit, the vegetable garden exists, the kitchen uses it. But it is a far cry from the Menorcan model, where the law requires a full-time employee on the farming side to use the word agroturismo. In Ibiza, the term mainly sells an atmosphere: old stone, gardens, calm. Bear that in mind if the “authentic farm” argument weighs in your choice.
Budget and timing: the keys to a successful rural stay in Ibiza
May-June and September-October are still the best periods. Temperatures of around 24-28 degrees, the sea still good in September-October and above all far fewer people than in high summer. To enjoy the interior on foot, April-May or October-November are even better: the almond trees blossom in spring, and swimming is still possible in autumn.
Budget generously. Between €150 and €300 a night for the most intimate addresses such as Can Pardal or Ca’s Pla. Between €400 and €600, sometimes more in peak season, for Atzaró or Can Curreu.
And Cas Gasi, now Soho Farmhouse
This is what the former benchmark of Ibizan agroturismo looks like today. Cas Gasi became Soho Farmhouse Ibiza in July 2025: 14 rooms, two pools, a spa and a nine-acre olive grove in Santa Gertrudis. The difference with the six addresses above comes down to one word: access is reserved for club members and their guests. You cannot book a night there as in a classic hotel.

Photos: Soho Farmhouse Ibiza
Ibiza has around thirty old farms converted into hotels in total. This selection covers only a handful, chosen on the basis of verified reviews and confirmed information. Other names come up, Can Sastre, Xereca, Can Fuster, but their exact rates were not reliable enough at the time of writing to include them with certainty.
FAQ: agroturismo in Ibiza
Does Cas Gasi still exist?
No, not as a hotel open to the public. The finca closed in 2025 and reopened as Soho Farmhouse Ibiza, a private Soho House club reserved for its members.
Do you need to hire a car to stay at an agroturismo in Ibiza?
Yes, almost always. These addresses are inland, far from regular bus stops. Some access roads, such as Ca’s Pla’s, are narrow and steep. Book your car.
Is an agroturismo in Ibiza suitable for children?
It depends on the address. Atzaró and Casa Munich have the facilities (big spaces, several pools). Can Pardal, with its 5 rooms and intimate atmosphere, is more for couples.
What is the difference from a classic seaside hotel in Ibiza?
Most of these addresses have no direct beach access. You gain calm and setting, you lose the walk to the sand. Casa Munich is the closest to a compromise, 10 minutes from the town centre.
Can you book these hotels all year round?
Yes, but some scale back or close for a few weeks in midwinter. Check directly on the property’s official website before booking for December-January.
