Dunas de Formentera bills itself as the island’s first regenerative hotel: renewable electricity, recycled water, sourcing from local producers, all within the GSTC framework (Global Sustainable Tourism Council). White bungalows and duplex buildings set in the dunes, beige and terracotta tones, natural jute: luxury here means simplicity.

Rooms, suites and Casas del Mar

The 45 units range from the Formentera double room to the Panorámica Vista Mar suite, via junior suites, family rooms and the Casas del Mar. Some rooms have sea views.

Quality linen, large picture windows and private terraces: each room is different, with the same palette of beige, terracotta and off-white.

Wood-fired dining and wellness

The sea-facing restaurant cooks over embers: Mediterranean fish, wood-fired dishes and Balearic produce, led by chef Jennifer Infantes Martin with advice from Michelin-starred chef Gorka Txapartegi. Signature cocktails at sunset.

For wellness: massages and Ayurvedic treatments with natural products, on request at reception, and a well-equipped gym.

Who is it for?

  • Couples who want the beach right below their room.
  • Eco-conscious travellers.
  • Food lovers: the wood-fired restaurant is worth the trip.
  • Tight budgets.
  • Travellers without a vehicle.
