The experience that awaits you
One hour to breathe underwater for the first time, supervised by an instructor from the Orcasub Formentera centre. The format is classic and reassuring: equipment briefing, putting on the wetsuit, simple exercises in shallow water, then a gradual descent to look at the seabed.
Two details set it apart from “conveyor belt” try-dives: 4 participants maximum per instructor, and sessions in several languages, including English, which makes all the difference when you are a little stressed with the regulator in your mouth. Underwater photos and videos are included.

A first step before a proper course
If you enjoy it, the centre offers a discount on a full diving course. The exact meeting point is sent to you when you book. Not recommended if you have lung, heart or ear problems or high blood pressure: if in doubt, ask for medical advice before booking.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
Who it is for: complete beginners, families with children aged 8 and over, travellers who want to try diving without committing to a level. Less suited to already certified divers, who will get more out of an exploration dive, or to children under 8. The GetYourGuide rating (4.2/5) is still based on few reviews, read them below.
Formentera’s waters are among the clearest in the Mediterranean thanks to the posidonia meadows: even at shallow depth, visibility is often excellent, which makes a try-dive far more rewarding than in murky water.
