The experience that awaits you
Two hours on a small motorboat from Ses Illetes, with a Whitesand Surf marine biologist at the helm. After a short briefing at the centre, you head for Es Trucadors, Es Pas and Espalmador, with snorkelling stops above the posidonia meadows of Ses Salines Natural Park.
That is what makes the difference with a classic snorkelling trip: they explain what you are seeing, with a fish identification sheet, and why posidonia is protected. The trip also goes via Punta Prima for an optional cliff jump.

Small group, and strict rules underwater
The group is limited (6 to 8 people depending on the slot). Touching marine life is forbidden, and the team asks for biodegradable sunscreen. You must be able to swim: the activity is not open to non-swimmers or wheelchair users.
Who it is for, and who it is not for
Who it is for: nature lovers, families with teenagers, travellers who want to understand Formentera’s ecosystem rather than just swim. Less suited if you want a long day at sea with a meal: this is 2 hours focused on observation. The activity is new on GetYourGuide, with very few reviews so far.
The posidonia meadows around Espalmador are UNESCO World Heritage along with Ses Salines Natural Park. Their role, their fragility in the face of anchors and why the water is so clear here: it is all in our dedicated article.
