Three official webcams run around the clock in Formentera: Es Caló, Sant Francesc and the Estany des Peix.
Alongside them, a handful of private cameras cover Es Pujols, La Savina port and the top of La Mola.
Key points
- Three official webcams, run by the Formentera tourist office: Es Caló (fishermen’s huts), Sant Francesc Xavier (the village square) and the Estany des Peix (the sailing school).
- No webcam films Ses Illetes or Migjorn. Pages that claim otherwise actually point to Es Pujols or to the La Savina lagoon.
- In practice, the most useful camera is the Estany des Peix one: it shows the state of the water on the La Savina side, so you get an idea of the wind before booking a boat or a paddleboard.
- Two private cameras are missing from most lists: the one at the top of La Mola, which takes in almost the whole island, and the one at La Savina port, both run by Avista Baleares with 7-day timelapses.
- Third-party webcams (SkylineWebcams, Windfinder) add Es Pujols and live wind data, but with adverts and sometimes a delay.
Formentera’s 3 official webcams
The webcams page on the official tourist office website brings them together, in English. Technically, the streams run through rtsp.me embeds at 640×480. It is not 4K, but it is live, with no adverts and no sign-up.
Es Caló de Sant Agustí, from the fishermen’s huts
The view starts from the escars, the wooden boat shelters lining the small cove of Es Caló, on the north-east coast. It is the most photogenic of the three: turquoise water, small boats, flat rocks. It also gives the best reading of the sea on the north side, which matters if you plan to sail along the coast towards S’Espalmador or swim somewhere less sheltered.
The detail to know: Es Caló faces north-east, so when the tramontana blows, it shows straight away on screen. A flat sea here means a comfortable boat day. Foam on the rocks means the crossing from Ibiza will be bumpy.

Sant Francesc Xavier, the village square
The island’s capital, filmed on Plaça de la Constitució with the 18th-century fortified church in the background. There is no sea view here, and that is exactly the point: this camera tells you how busy the island really is. An empty square at 1pm means you are out of season or in the middle of siesta. A packed square means it is August.
In practice: Sant Francesc’s craft market is held on and around this square. A glance at the webcam tells you whether it is set up that day, before you ride 5 km from Es Pujols for nothing.

Estany des Peix, the sailing school
The Estany des Peix is the almost enclosed lagoon just west of La Savina port, linked to the sea by a channel a few metres wide. The camera points at the sailing school. It is the most useful webcam in the selection: the water is like a mirror, so its surface reveals the wind far better than a 5-day forecast.
One point often misreported elsewhere: the Estany des Peix is a protected area of the Ses Salines natural park. Motorboat use is regulated and anchoring requires authorisation. The webcam mostly shows optimists, paddleboards and small dinghies, not yachts.

Unofficial webcams
Es Pujols, two different cameras
Es Pujols is the island’s only real beach resort, and the only place covered by several private cameras. SkylineWebcams hosts two, distinct despite almost identical names: a view of Es Pujols beach and a second facing north-west with Ibiza in the background. Both offer a timelapse of the past day, handy for seeing how the light changes and when the beach empties.
There is also a camera installed by a beach venue, the El Tiburón webcam, hosted by a German site. It is listed almost everywhere as “Illetas”, which is wrong: it really films Es Pujols, not Ses Illetes. If you were looking for a live image of the island’s most famous beach, it does not exist.

La Mola and La Savina, the two cameras everyone forgets
They are missing from the lists going around, and yet they may be the best. They are run by Avista Baleares, a local Balearic telecom operator, and stream live with a timelapse archive of the last 7 days.
The La Mola camera sits at the island’s highest point, 192 metres up, and sweeps across almost all of Formentera: you can make out Cap de Barbaria on the left and Punta Prima on the right. It is the only image that gives an overall reading of the weather on the island, whereas the others only show one spot. Useful when the sky is overcast in Es Pujols and you are wondering whether it is worth driving south.

The La Savina camera covers the ferry port, on the north side of the Estany des Peix, where the fishing harbour sits alongside the marina and its big yachts. It is the only live view of the island’s point of entry.

A word on aggregators: several sites (Webcam Galore, WhatsUpCams) list a “La Savina webcam” that is in fact just the Estany des Peix stream rebroadcast.
Check what you are looking at before concluding the port is deserted.
Es Mirador, the panorama from the La Mola road
The last working camera is on the El Mirador restaurant, on the road climbing to La Mola. It gives the panorama over the isthmus and both coasts. It can be reached via the WorldCam directory and is hosted by Conecta Balear.
Windfinder, for those heading out on the water
The Windfinder La Savina page groups several cameras in the area and, above all, overlays the data missing everywhere else: live wind strength and direction, in knots. If you are renting a small boat, a paddleboard or a kayak, this is the page to open before you pay. An east-south-easterly at 8 knots is fine; a north-easterly at 20 knots turns the outing into a chore.
What the webcams do not show
It needs saying clearly, because many pages suggest the opposite. No camera films Ses Illetes, Llevant, Migjorn or Cala Saona. Ses Illetes and Llevant sit on the Es Trucadors peninsula, right in the heart of the Ses Salines natural park, where fixed installations are tightly controlled. The other beaches simply have no infrastructure that would justify a camera.
Another limit: the camera at the top of La Mola gives the island panorama, but none points at La Mola lighthouse itself, or at Cap de Barbaria. For those two spots, you will have to go there.
Why Formentera’s webcams are useful
Formentera’s webcams have 3 practical uses:
- Checking the wind before a trip out to sea.
Estany des Peix for the sheltered water, Es Caló for the exposed north coast. Two minutes that save a ruined boat day.
Our guide to activities in Formentera details the options depending on conditions. - Gauging the crowds before you go.
The Sant Francesc camera and the Es Pujols ones give an honest picture of how busy it is, especially in July and August, when the difference between 10am and 1pm is huge. - Confirming the actual weather on the day.
The camera at the top of La Mola is the best for this, since it covers almost the whole island in one view. A “cloudy” forecast often means clear skies over just half of Formentera.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a live webcam of Ses Illetes?
No. Ses Illetes is in the Ses Salines natural park, with no fixed installations allowed. The webcams listed as “Illetas” in some directories actually film Es Pujols. To discover the beach, see our article on Ses Illetes.
Are the official webcams free?
Yes, completely. They are hosted on the Formentera tourist office website, with no sign-up or adverts. Third-party webcams such as SkylineWebcams are free too, but with an advert before the stream.
Can you watch the ferries arriving in La Savina live?
Yes, but not via the official webcams. The Avista Baleares camera in La Savina covers the port area where the ferries arrive. To follow a specific boat, a marine traffic service is more reliable. Timetables and companies in our Ibiza-Formentera ferry guide.
Is there a timelapse to replay the day?
Yes, on two networks. The SkylineWebcams cameras in Es Pujols archive the past day, and the Avista Baleares ones (La Mola and La Savina) keep a daily timelapse for the last 7 days. The three official webcams stream live with no history.
