Cala Moli is an unspoilt cove on Ibiza’s south-west coast, between Cala Vadella and Cala Tarida, near Sant Josep de sa Talaia. This pebble beach surrounded by pines offers a tranquillity rare on the island, with turquoise water perfect for snorkelling. Declared a natural area by the municipality, Cala Moli appeals to visitors looking for authenticity and calm, far from the bustle of crowded beaches.
In short: a pebble and gravel beach designated a “natural beach” by the San José municipality. It stands out for its wild character and respect for its environment. It is a favourite for snorkelling and diving thanks to the clarity of the water and the seabed. The cove is relatively isolated and the atmosphere is calm, apart from a beach club that livens up part of the shore. It is an option for nature lovers and those who prefer rocky seabeds.

A natural cove with exceptional turquoise water
Cala Moli stands out for its wild, authentic character. This small bay, 70 metres long and 30 metres wide, is made of polished pebbles and coarse sand, lined with Mediterranean pines and rocky cliffs.
The rocky seabed has exceptional visibility, making this cove a remarkable spot for watching marine life with a mask and snorkel. I STRONGLY recommend bringing water shoes, such as jelly sandals, to make getting into the water over the pebbles easier. The crystal-clear water reveals underwater caves and abundant aquatic life.
A joy for snorkellers and anyone looking for a wild beach.

The renowned “El Silencio” beach club
The El Silencio beach club offers sunbeds, parasols and a pool for those wanting extra comfort, while respecting the peaceful atmosphere of the place.
El Silencio has established itself as one of Ibiza’s most sought-after beach clubs since opening in 2021 in this unspoilt cove on the south-west coast. Founded by Arnaud Frisch, creator of the famous Paris club of the same name, it combines relaxed elegance and a Balearic bohemian spirit across three distinct spaces: a restaurant on the sand, a retro-chic pool area and a unique art and relaxation space.
The food is overseen by three-Michelin-star Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco, with a generous Mediterranean menu: Peruvian ceviche, prawn carpaccio, grilled turbot, flambéed Ibiza lobster and a selection of sharing tapas made with local produce. The cocktail bar is run by French-Irish mixologist Rémy Savage, named the world’s best bartender in 2022.
The venue also has a Japanese sunset bar, Urusai, DJ residencies and regular art installations. Prices reflect its premium positioning: €40 for a beach sunbed including parasol and service, up to €240 for a front-row double bed by the pool with a €160 minimum spend.

The absence of rows of public parasols preserves the natural panorama of this cove, listed as natural heritage, where families and locals enjoy the calm far from the summer crowds!
How to get there
Car access and parking at Cala Moli
Cala Moli can only be reached by car, about 15 minutes from Sant Antoni de Portmany or 10 minutes from Sant Josep. From these towns, follow signs for Cala Tarida, then take the signposted minor road to Cala Moli. The winding descent through the hills offers panoramic views of the cove.
Free parking is along the road near the beach, but spaces are limited. No public transport serves this isolated cove directly: a hire car or taxi are the only practical options.

Activities
Snorkelling and spectacular sunsets
From Cala Moli, the view takes in the Mediterranean horizon and the wooded cliffs framing the bay. At dusk, the site becomes a natural theatre as the sun sinks into the sea, lighting the sky in pinks, oranges and purples. I suggest staying until sunset and walking up onto the heights to admire the show from the cliffs.
The transparent water and rocky terrain make Cala Moli an ideal playground for snorkelling and exploring sea caves. Nearby, coastal paths lead to Cala Tarida and Cala Vadella for scenic walks along the coast. The beach club also offers water sports such as paddleboarding and kayaking depending on the season.
