Cala Saona is the only large hotel on this western cove. You open the shutters onto turquoise water and red rocks, and in the evening the sun sets in line with Es Vedrà.
The hotel belongs to a family group established on the island for over a century, which also runs Sa Pedrera Suites & Spa in Es Pujols.

The hotel overlooks the pine-fringed cove of Cala Saona. The beach is 50 m away. La Savina port is about 9 km away, Sant Francesc 5 km. Once the day visitors have left, the cove goes quiet again.

The island’s best-known beach
Watching Cala Saona at sunset from a boat is still one of my favourite moments in Formentera. Sleeping right above it means you get that show every evening, and the Cap de Barbaria lighthouse is not far. I strongly recommend everything the hotel offers, and its beach right below, which is superb.
